1. Introduction
Warranly ("we", "our", "us") provides an extended warranty and product guarantee management app for Shopify merchants. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you use our application.
2. Information We Collect
When you install and use Warranly, we access the following data through the Shopify API:
- Store Information: Shop domain, store name, and locale settings for app configuration.
- Product Data: Product titles, prices, variant information, and metafields to determine guarantee eligibility and pricing.
- Cart & Order Data: Cart line items and attributes to attach warranty products and calculate pricing.
- Warranty Sales Records: When a customer purchases a warranty, we store the order ID, product title, warranty tier, price, and customer email (if available) to track warranty coverage. Customer email is deleted upon receiving a GDPR erasure request.
- Session Data: OAuth session tokens for authentication purposes. These are stored securely in our database.
3. Information We Do NOT Collect
We do not collect, store, or process:
- Customer personal information (names, addresses, phone numbers)
- Payment or financial information
- Customer browsing behavior or analytics
- Any data from customers who do not interact with the guarantee widget
4. How We Use Information
We use the collected information solely to:
- Display warranty offers on product and cart pages
- Calculate warranty pricing based on product prices
- Manage warranty tiers and configuration
- Authenticate your Shopify admin session
5. Data Storage & Security
App configuration (warranty tiers, widget settings, translations) is stored as Shopify app metafields within your store — we do not maintain a separate copy. Session data is stored in an encrypted database and automatically deleted when the app is uninstalled.
6. Data Retention & Deletion
When you uninstall Warranly, all session data is immediately deleted. App metafields are managed by Shopify and follow Shopify's data retention policies. Within 48 hours of uninstallation, any remaining data is permanently removed from our systems.
7. Third-Party Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or share any merchant or customer data with third parties. All data interactions occur exclusively between your Shopify store and the Warranly app through Shopify's official APIs.
8. GDPR Compliance
Warranly complies with GDPR and Shopify's mandatory privacy requirements. We support:
- Data Access Requests: We respond to customer data requests forwarded by Shopify.
- Data Erasure: We delete customer data upon receiving erasure requests from Shopify.
- Shop Data Erasure: All shop data is deleted after app uninstallation.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this policy.
